Let’s get nerdy with it!
But what is Plasma?
Plasma is considered the fourth state of matter. The other fundamental states of matter are liquids, solids, and gases. Typically, plasma is made by heating a gas until its electrons have sufficient energy to escape the hold of the positively charged nuclei.
Plasma skin tightening is relatively new in North America but has been safely and effectively performed in Europe for many years. The device that is used, a plasma pen, works by utilizing the voltage in the air between the pen’s tip and skin to release a plasma charge. This arc instantly shrinks, sublimates, the skin in the targeted area, and leaves a temporary small carbon crust. The crusts will fall off in 5–7 days. The resulting tissue retraction gives results that are comparable to surgery.
This sublimation caused by the plasma arc stimulates the production and activation of the fibroblasts in the skin which respond by producing collagen and elastins to repair the area. Yes, fibroblast is already in your skin and it’s what produces collagen.
Plasma sublimation is a non-surgical method that has a very wide range of rejuvenating treatments, and can improve a number of skin complaints.
This fibroblast method can be used for:
Sagging or loose skin
Hooded or wrinkled eyelids
Bags under the eyes
Lines and wrinkles on the face or/and neck
Body Piercing scars
Coupled together with, fibroblasting, Deb also offers:
Microneedling. Microneedling is a non-surgical procedure that uses your body’s own wound healing processes to encourage cellular turnover and collagen production. Microneedling is performed with a handheld device that features multiple tiny needles. The needles are used to rapidly puncture the skin, thus creating microscopic channels within the dermis. It may sound painful, but it actually feels like getting sandpaper moved across your skin or a cat licking your whole face. We do apply a local anesthetic cream to your face before starting the procedure so it really is not painful at all. (Of course, every client will have varying experiences when it comes to pain.)
As soon as the micro-wounds are created within the skin, the body’s wound healing processes respond to heal them. This means collagen production is accelerated, along with cellular turnover. While some results may be almost immediate, your best results usually won’t be visible until four to six weeks after the procedure.
Aging causes our skin to lose its elasticity which results to have those unwanted lines and wrinkles. This also causes sagging and thinning of the skin. Microneedling triggers the release of natural elements in the skin that improves elasticity and these are elastin and collagen. Having enough collagen and elastin reduces the formation of unwanted lines and wrinkles and will make you achieve that younger and fresher look in no time. This management is much less expensive than laser and light treatments.
Microneedling is an excellent solution for clients who want to experience facial rejuvenation without undergoing surgery.
Microneedling can treat any of the following:
Wrinkles and fine lines
Scars from surgery, acne or chickenpox
Pigmentation marks from sun damage or acne
Old Piercing scars
The overall microneedling procedure takes 40 – 60 minutes to perform depending on what areas need to be treated. It can be performed at the same session as a plasma fibroblast treatment and is recommended if fibroblast is needed to concentrate on a particularly troublesome area. Microneedling cannot be performed on the upper eyelids, for example.
• 3-6 microneedling treatments are necessary for the best results. The number of microneedling sessions depends on the individual’s skin condition.
• 3-4 microneedling treatments are recommended for mild to moderate acne scarring, whereas deeper scars and stretch marks may require upward of 6 treatments.
• An interval of 4 to 6 weeks between your initial treatments is typically recommended.
• Maintenance treatments at intervals of 6 to 12 months are best.
